History and Structure
The Mercer County WV Teachers Federal Credit Union was chartered on April 8, 1954 by the Bureau of Federal Credit Unions.
The credit union is governed by a Board of Directors that meets monthly to discuss the financial condition of the credit union and make changes and policies as needed.
To assure your credit union is operating in accordance with the Federal rules and regulations that have been set forth by the National Credit Union Administration, two audits/exams are performed annually. One is by the National Credit Union Administration and the other by the WV Credit Union League Services Corp.; requested by the credit unions Supervisory Committee.
All board members are elected by the credit union membership at the annual meeting held each year. Any credit union member is eligible to serve as an officer.
