Our field of membership now includes any employee working for the Mercer County Board of Education, Bluefield State College, Bluefield College, Ceres Elementary School K-5th and any family members of these employees.

Share Accounts

Membership with the Mercer County WV Teachers Federal Credit Union requires a minimum balance of $10.00 in a share savings account. You may also have secondary share/savings accounts under your base account number depending upon your individual
needs. Dividends are declared and paid monthly.

Certificate of Deposit

When you invest in a Certificate Of Deposit, your money will earn a highly competitive interest rate. Since you lock in the rate for the entire term of you Certificate Of Deposit, this is an excellent way to boost your savings yields without the risk of market fluctuations

Christmas and Vacation Club Accounts

Our Club Accounts allow you to save gradually for any type of annual expense. With regular contributions and competitive dividends, your nest egg will grow quickly and easily. All our savings accounts are insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA, a federal agency.

• No minimum balance and pay a dividend each month.
• Christmas Club balances are transferred to your share draft or savings account each November.
• Vacation Club withdrawals may be made at any time.
• These accounts do not impose any type of penalty.
• If you make more than three (3) withdrawals from your Christmas Club in one (1) year, your account will be could be closed.

Share Draft (Checking)

Our Share Draft Checking Accounts give you all the features you want in a checking account, without the fees and hassles you’ll find at other financial institutions.

• Your first box of checks are free. (After your first box you pay for check printing)

• Easy-to-reconcile monthly statements
• ATM cards are provided with your checking account free of charge.
• We do charge if:
  • You overdraw your account
  • You request a stop payment on any item.

Visa Checkcard

The Visa Debit card is available when you open your share draft/checking account with the credit union.
The Visa Debit/ATM card may be used anywhere the VISA logo is displayed, including point of sale transactions and ATM withdrawals.  We do not charge for point of sale transactions at the present time. If you use an ATM, you may be charged a fee by the ATM operator and by any national, regional, or local network used in processing your transaction.

Security and your Credit Union Visa Debit Card

• You will never receive a call from the credit union, or from anyone representing the credit union. asking for your debit card number, your pin or your three digit security code.
• If you receive a call requesting any of this information, contact the credit union immediately.
• The credit union and the company who processes your card information are already in possession of this data.
• Please remember only use your pin or 3 digit security code if you initiate the transaction.

Other Services

Direct Deposit and Payroll Deduction

We accept payroll deduction or direct deposit from any employer or agency who process through the Federal Reserve ACH system. For correct routing and account number information, please contact the credit union office during normal business hours. This will ensure your deposit is not delayed or rejected.

Notary Service

Notary service is provided to our members free of charge. Please be prepared to show picture id.
